Irv Lee's Rust Remover for Pilots!

Available now, there is a new DVD to remove that surface rust forming on your flying skills over Winter.

Click on the DVD above to read more and order online!

New: DVD - Just what you've been waiting for...!

You know you don't fly often enough, you know how rusty you feel! For 10 years I've been derusting pilots after lay-offs and most of them show the same mistakes, forget the same things, etc. This DVD can be watched before you go flying, and you can see (and recognise) the rust! Pre-flight planning tips too. If owning and watching this DVD can save you just 15 minutes of de-rusting time once at today's rental prices, it will more than worth it. Suitable whether you are technically current, about to go for a check flight, or a student with a gap since the previous lesson.

Or maybe... if you need a present for a pilot, what better gift? The new flying season is arriving soon, and the winter rust needs to be polished off those skills

Order now online - click on the DVD image.

Quotes:

(The Loop):

(Pilot Magazine):
"... packed with advice, refreshing relevant in-flight cockpit and air to air filming."
(Flight Training News):
"... it's about time someone produced something like this, congratulations to Irv and his team."

Favourite Flying Pastimes

Incidents?

Some people ask me if I have been involved in any 'flying incidents' over the years - here's a log in case it helps anyone avoid the same:

Year

Description

Cause / Result?

1971- 1999

Nothing much!

A great 20th Century

2000

Very little climb performance during climb out on touch and go in C150

One Magneto had failed, Low level circuit to land

2001

Full power not achieved on take off run in C172

Lower than usual RPM noticed, take off aborted. Outer plastic sheath of throttle cable had became detached from internal fixing point, allowing slight 'buckling' of cable and full power was not achieved despite 'full throttle'.

2001

Engine Failure After Take off

Landed on runway ahead. Carburettor Jet found to be blocked.

2001

Suspected Engine Fire

Wasn't a fire. Drop of oil had weeped out of a seal onto the exhaust, giving smell and slight fumes. As we were at 3000' only 1 mile west of Popham airfield, choosing where to land wasn't a problem.

2002

Engine Failure

Almost certainly Carb Icing, but awaiting confirmation. As close as possible to a 'normal' landing in a field, pub found, lunch eaten. Suspicion of Carb Heat system not giving full heat, due to symptoms of failure. Awaiting inspection.

I.T. World:

Until mid-2001 employed by IBM (UK) in Hursley near Winchester, Hampshire, most recently as an I.T. specialist on Lotus Notes, and previously elsewhere in IBM at Havant, Portsmouth, Winchester, and also at Evry (Essonnes) France. Tasks at various times over many years ranged from project leading application developments, through creation and delivery of software education, to designing and coding semi-automated auditing software in all sorts of computer languages.
