DVD: RUST REMOVER FOR PILOTS: If you're not flying as much as you'd like to, (and who is?), this DVD is for you, to get you back into flying after a short lay-off. You know you feel rusty! This DVD should shorten your route to confident flying, containing preflight tips and a look at the mistakes you KNOW you make on that first flight after a short lay-off. With many pilots flying at irregular intervals due to various reasons, this DVD is what you've been waiting for as a way to derust yourself efficiently. Being filmed over the Isle of Wight, this DVD has some great aerial flying shots. Run through the whole programme (45 minutes) or chose a topic (e.g. flying the overhead join). Watch this DVD before you go flying, and polish your flying before you go near the aircraft. If it helps get your sharpness back quicker, that's real money saving at today's flying prices, never mind the obvious safety advantage of seeing the mistakes you might make. Because of its safety implications, the production of this DVD has been generously sponsored by Air Total, BN (Bembridge Airport) and CSE at Oxford to bring the price into an affordable range for the hobby pilot. Want to see a 60 second promo? Click here Most private pilots don’t fly regularly enough to keep their skills really sharp - a fact well known to instructors, examiners, airfield operators, air traffic control, accident investigators and aviation insurers. Almost every time I fly with a 'rusty pilot' the same faults come up, so we decided to address them all in ‘Rust Remover for Pilots'. It’s not a training video - We know you can fly, but it will enable you to re- visit all those areas of VFR pre- flight & flight that get rusty before you commit aviation. So what do you do? If you’re seriously out of practice or not legally current there’s only one answer— regain those skills by flying with an instructor. But what if you’re just a bit rusty for all the usual reasons— work, family commitments, DIY and so on, you don’t fly regularly enough to stay sharp. You tend to muddle through your flight planning. You forget to check the aircraft’s maintenance has enough hours to run. It’s easy to miss items off the pre- flight check list. ATC seems to talk too fast. The aircraft seems awkward to handle. You’re just a little ’behind the action’. Oh no, they want an overhead join, let me think.... You’re not unsafe. Your passengers probably wouldn’t notice anything, but you just don’t feel ‘on- top- of- it’ - bascially YOU’RE RUSTY and what’s in the DVD will help you scrape it off! I can also tell who has been watching this DVD - the difference between someone who has not flown for months and not prepared this way and someone who has is obvious to me after just a few minutes of flight, the checkout is almost always shorter, and that means less expense. The same applies to students mid-course. If students are only flying at weekends and miss a couple of those, they often feel that progression is hindered by the gap since the last lesson. This DVD only has to save 10 minutes of revision once at today's PPL lesson prices for the student to be 'winning'. Even if you fly every day (!) but just from 'here' to 'there', try the workout suggested for safety reasons or before any rental check which requires general handling exercises. |
